YAYOI KUSAMA PUMPKIN

Autumn is upon us, so why not pay homage to a beautiful and food comforting vegetable of the season. The glorious ‘Pumpkin’! The most fun style of Yayoi Kusama felt like a perfect choice. Dots, lines, bright colours, contrasts…what not to like. We started by drawing some different sized dots, with the idea of recreating the shape of a pumpkin on colour paper. For our background we used acrylic paint and cardboard makeshift palette knifes as our painting tool. Once kids were happy with the painting, we glued the paper pumpkins onto the background and the results are … fab-u-lous! 🙂
