THE AMAZING MR BLUNDEN
A toy theatre animation for this Christmas Sky original
We were approached by Adorable Media to create an animation for their Christmas commission from Sky. It was a remake of the 1972 classic film ‘The Amazing Mr Blunden’. Written and directed by Mark Gatiss (Sherlock, The League of Gentlemen), he wanted a toy theatre sequence to replace what was a dream sequence in the original film. We storyboarded and developed the artwork under Mark’s direction, then shot the cast against greenscreen alongside him. Getting to direct the great Simon Callow (Mr.Blunden) was a real treat. When broadcast it was one of Sky’s big Christmas events.
