This is one of my favourite projects from this term, inspired by the fantastic art of Junior Fritz Jacquet. We used kitchen rolls cut in two and quickly dipped them in the water for easier mailability of the faces. We dried them with a hairdryer and coated them in PVA to harden the shape. Finally, we painted them monochromatically with acrylics and hot glue gunned some carnival themed decorations. Initially I thought this might be a quite demanding project as it required some patience and persistence, but the kids took it in their stride and produced some wonderful and festive creatures…and here they are so let the Summer Carnival begin!
